Deep purple-red colour. Fruit driven wine, with appealing red and black cherries flavours, black plums, hint of mint and cedar. On the palate it has a nice tannic round texture. Notes of vanilla and chocolate. Nice to drink now or to be laid down.
Caro
Wonderful deep purple-red colour. Intense aromas of red and black fruit (cherries and blackcurrants) on the nose, with notes of cedar, vanilla and tobacco, slightly minty and well integrated. Full on the palate with good, fairly powerful tannic structure, and good, delicate length. A wine with great ageing potential.
Los Vascos Sauvignon Blanc
This Sauvignon Blanc is clear with nice green reflections. The nose has the traditional and ‘savage’ aromas of Sauvignon Blanc, which are particularly expressive and typical: boxwood, gorse and exotic fruit (pineapple and lime). In the mouth, it is fresh, very juicy and balanced with good persistence. The grapes from Casablanca and Leyda bring minerals to the wine as well as elegance. It may be served as an appetizer, with all types of seafood or lightly seasoned salads.
Los Vascos Chardonnay
This vintage has a brilliant and clear colour with golden reflections. It has an explosive nose of melon, grapefruit and exotic fruit coupled with the typical Chardonnay note of hazelnut. In the mouth, it is rich, fresh and pleasantly fruity with good structure and a long finish. This Chardonnay should be drunk as an appetizer, with oysters, white meat, fish or cheeses.
Los Vascos Grande Reserva
The colour is brilliant red ruby. The nose explodes with fruit: black cherry and blackcurrant (cabernet), strawberry (malbec), raspberry (syrah), and plum with light touches of bay leaf and black pepper (carmenére). The oak is a delicious complement adding cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate and tobacco. It is creamy, intense, and fresh, with balanced acidity, good structure, finishing with a great expression of fruit marked by raspberries and sweet cherries, with little touches of liquorice. The wine is absorbing and harmonious, intensely delicious and entertaining.
Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignon
Brilliant red ruby colour. Pleasant mature fruit such as red cherries, raspberries and plums. Notes of sarsaparilla and gooseberry jam, glazed dry fruit, red fruit in syrup and white chocolate. Spices of black pepper, nutmeg, bay leaves, mint and cloves. Sweet, round, vigorous and elegant tannins. Good acidity, with character. Simply delicious.
Le Dix de Los Vascos
Deep garnet color, almost black. The powerful nose develops aromas of very ripe black fruit and wild cherries complemented by aromas of wax, cedar, laurel, and licorice. The oak is pleasantly integrated with the fruit. This adds to the wine enjoyable aromas of toasted coffee, vanilla, tobacco and cinnamon. The Syrah adds nuances of violets and raspberries. In the mouth, it is round, dense, fresh and fruity. The wine is very concentrated, very balanced and elegant, fresh and long with rich but ripe and soft tannins. It finishes with a strong taste of cherry (kirsch) and a light bitterness of walnut peel typical of great Cabernets. The Carmenere adds an enjoyable touch of pepper. Very good ageing potential. A very fine vintage!
Escudo Rojo
The wine, an attractive, deep ruby red, opens on rich spice, toast and black cherry aromas to which a tough of eucalyptus brings subtlety and aromatic refinement. Round and smooth on the palate, powerful though not excessively so, it displays excellent balance, combining fine, well-integrated tannins with notes of vanilla, caramel, liquorice and mocha. The flavoursome finish, generous and complex, is the expression of a successful varietal mix to which an intriguing and pleasant dash of syrah brings a touch of pepper and spice, highlighting the wine's exotic character and warmth.
Chardonnay Por Escudo Rojo
Colour: attractive yellow with bright and brilliant gold tint. Nose: refined and complex, revealing a subtle combination of white blossom, toasted hazelnut, powerful white peach aromas and suggestions of toast. Palate: round, full-bodied and smooth, showing perfect balance between the freshness of vanilla and tropical fruit and power of toast and spice. Evidence of rigorous selection from the best vineyards of the Casablanca Vally is apparent in the long and expressive finish.
Mapu Merlot
Colour: lovely clear and bright ruby. Nose: fresh and intense, with fresh red fruit, raspberry and cherry aromas. Palate: succulent and fruity, with intense flavors dominated by cherry and bilberry and underpinned by mature tannins.
Mapu Merlot Reserva
Colour: lovely bright ruby red. Nose: fresh and seductive, combining red berry fruit with touches of vanilla. Palate: fresh, juicy and full of fruit. The refined mid-palate reveals cherry flavors, perfectly combined with notes of toast underpinned by mature tannins. Well-balanced and elegant finish.
Mapu Cabernet Sauvignon/Carmenere
Colour: attractively intense red. Nose: refined and generous on black fruit aromas that mingle subtly with touches of pepper. Palate: fresh and fruity, with well-rounded tannins sustained by powerful blackberry and spice flavors. The wine perfect balances the elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon with the smoothness of Carmenere.
Mapu Cabernet Sauvignon
Colour: attractive, bright and brilliant ruby. Nose: expressive, it reveals red berry and cherry aromas with a touch of spice. Palate: full-bodied and generous, with powerful black currant and raspberry flavors underpinned by a supple, well-rounded tannic structure, leading into a fresh and succulent finish.
Mapu Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva
Colour: attractive ruby red with a violet tint. Nose: intense and generous, with powerful blackcurrant and raspberry aromas and a touch of licorice. Palate: fresh and fruity, with stylish tannins and a pleasant suggestion of smoke. The flavors and complex, with blackcurrant and bilberry notes bringing freshness and a lingering finish.
Mapu Sauvignon Blanc/Chardonnay
Colour: brilliant and clear golden yellow. Nose: fresh and elegant, combining floral notes of white lilac with peach and tropical fruit aromas. Palate: round and smooth, evolving from mango to fresh and crisp citrus fruit. Beautifully balanced, the wine perfectly combines the smoothness of Chardonnay with the bite of Sauvignon.
